With only twenty or so restaurants and take aways on the island, the choice while perfectly adequate, is not on a par with the nearby towns on the mainland. Nevertheless, if you don’t want the hassle of sailing to Townsville, and the ferries stop pretty early in the evening anyway, you are sure to find something to tempt you. The fresh fish is particularly impressive and being an island, you are pretty sure that what you are getting really is fresh. Most of the bigger and more popular restaurants are located in the Picnic Bay Mall or in Arcadia where you can choose between various tastes from around the world.
